If you’re here, something in you is ready for support.
You may be navigating change, feeling the weight of relationships, or sensing that something is off.
You don’t need to have it figured out. Therapy starts exactly where you are.
I’m Pamela Martorana, a licensed professional counselor and founder of Kinderkamack Counseling in Bergen County, New Jersey. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship.
My role is to create a space where you feel safe enough to speak honestly about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment or pressure to perform.
Our work is collaborative. We talk together, set goals together, and notice patterns as they emerge.
You are not here to be fixed. You are here to be understood.
Your therapy sessions are interactive, evidence-based, and rooted in mindfulness, presence, and empowerment.
Personalized
My approach is systematic, which means we look at the larger context of your life. Family of origin, relationships, values, beliefs, and life experiences all matter.
Between sessions, I may offer reflections, awareness practices, or simple exercises to help you stay connected to the work as it unfolds.
This Work Is Guided by Experience, Training, and Deep Respect for Your Story
Instead of second guessing or defaulting to old patterns, you begin to trust yourself and your judgment.
You become more aware of how you show up, what you need, and what you’re willing to tolerate. Communication becomes more honest. Boundaries feel less frightening and more necessary.
Old beliefs about not being enough or having to earn your worth lose their grip. You begin to recognize your value without needing constant validation from others.
Not because everything is perfect, but because you’re no longer carrying the same emotional weight. You understand yourself better. You respond instead of react. You allow space for rest, play, and reflection alongside responsibility.
Change happens gradually, through insight, awareness, and consistent work.
And over time, that change becomes something you live from, not something you have to think about.
You can reach out through the contact form here or by phone at 201-982-3846. I’ll respond personally, usually within 24 hours, to schedule a consultation and answer any initial questions.
This first step is simply about starting the conversation.
Step 01
Step 02
Step 03
Step 04
You are moving through change like empty nesting, divorce, or retirement and need support finding your footing.
Life looks fine on the outside, but something inside feels unsettled or unfulfilled.
You are ready to understand how past experiences are shaping your present.
You notice an inner voice that questions your value and wants to change that relationship with yourself.
You want your strengths, values, and direction to feel more aligned.
Pamela Martorana brings over 25 years of clinical experience to her work with individuals and couples. Her approach is grounded in deep respect for each person’s story and shaped by training in structural family therapy, EMDR, and integrated therapeutic practices.
She is known for creating a space that feels steady, thoughtful, and human. Clients often describe feeling understood, supported, and gently challenged in ways that lead to real change.
Pam was there for me in the darkest moment of my life. She didn’t try to fix my grief. She simply sat beside me and walked with my family through unimaginable loss with compassion, steadiness, and care.
She has been a constant confidant to my husband and me. Pam is reaffirming, kind, and able to see and hear all sides of our issues while gently guiding us to conclusions that resonate. She brings knowledge, grace, and humility to her work, and it is a gift to experience her care.
Working with Pam has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Her professionalism, combined with her warm and genuinely caring manner, has made me feel consistently supported and understood. She is insightful, compassionate, and never judgmental.
Pam has been my therapist for close to ten years and is one of the most caring, compassionate, and supportive people I know. I have learned so much through our sessions over the years. She is more than my therapist. She is my friend. I am grateful to have Pam in my life.
I am a private pay provider. I can provide a superbill if you would like to submit for out of network reimbursement through your insurance. I’m happy to answer questions about this during a consultation so you know what to expect.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. How often we meet depends on your needs and goals. Some clients come weekly, others biweekly. We’ll find a rhythm that feels supportive and sustainable for you.
That’s more common than you might think. You don’t need to decide before reaching out. During our initial conversation, we’ll talk through what’s bringing you in and determine which approach feels most supportive right now.
No. Many people come in with a general sense of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Therapy begins by slowing down and getting curious together. Clarity often comes after you begin, not before.
